Following barrett's lead, Serbu now also rules!

I hope AB-50 backfires in a big way, and Kali can be announced as having the largest per capita supply of civilian .50 BMG rifles in the USA. That would be sweet justice.
 
it's the eric cartman school of marketing once again making it's appearance. as soon as they tell you you can't have it, you suddenly want one.

post-AWB I have a hankering to buy the largest capacity magazines i can find, someone should be making Beta-C mags for rimfires.
 
I want to spend money with these guys, and Ronnie Barrett as well, so bad I can taste it. I love their message and I want to support it.

If there is any way I could save up the money in time I would do it in a heart beat... wonder what their layaway terms are??? I'm so poor right now I'd have to lay away a t-shirt from them. I've determined that babies are the ultimate financial drain, but worth it.

You know once they register the 50's, a few years down the road they will be deamed illegal and confiscated.

I'm thinking that I need to get one too. I'll be polite and wait till all those from CA who want one have purchased theirs... say Jan 1 2005? :D

I can't wait to hear more about their semi-auto.

They don't register them in my state. I'm just grateful to see them doing something nice for people that just got screwed over, and I wish I could reciprocate.
 
They did with some 'assault rifles' that needed registering after they changed the rules, or something like that. They had to give them back, but it was a real eye-opener at the time that the state would/could/and did confiscate 'illegal' registered guns.

The law clearly states that if they decide we can't keep them we are allowed to take them out of state, so I do not expect confiscation to take place until after we have been notified that we can't have them at all anymore, registered or not.

Yes, I'm dreaming, but it's a blissful (or is that bliss-ninny?) dream...

CA resident, also possible .50 caliber purchase here. JUST BECAUSE THEY WANT TO OUTLAW IT. I'd never consider it otherwise. Anyone know about the quality of Serbu's .50 caliber?
 
At the federal level I could see an executive order, "as of yesterday all guns are banned".

At the state level however, the "confiscate previously registered 50's and AW's" bill would be debated for months, giving citizens ample time to a) bury b) sell c) move out of state or d) STOCK UP ON AMMO :)

When it is something they do not want to do, it takes months or years, but when it comes to flexing their muscle, they (the government and individual members thereof) can move very fast.

The more 'wrong' it is, the faster they move so they can get away with it before they are stopped. Fait accompli is easier to justify than getting permission. Can anybody say "Janet Reno"?

I believe one case was NY. Something about registering/licensing for long guns? Some years after the first lists were made, someone decided to look at the list, find the people who's registrations/licenses were expired, and go around confiscating guns. Give me a minute and I'll find the proper reference to this....

alarmguy, most likely to concentrate production on recievers for the threatened ban, which came about, and to put more labor into getting their semi to a production level.

I've wanted a Mod 82 since I 1st saw one at a gun show for $3000 back in 1992. I only had $2000 of credit on my brand spanking new credit card or I'd have that gun today. If I had known the future I would have stolen my Dad's CC to buy it ;)

Now, I'm debating on springing for a Serbu, but I'd really like have 10 rounds of semi-auto fun on tap or a semi-auto Ma Duece. But that's more debt than I really need :(

SKSs in CA. A few years back, AG Lungren allowed some hundreds of folks to register certain SKSs, even after the registration window was technically closed. Along came AG Lockyer, who said, "nope, bogus, those late registered SKSs are contraband, and we know who you are."
 
I have a Serbu BFG 50 w/ Niteforce scope. I love it. We'll be shooting it tomorrow during the Ohio Frugal Rally.
