Anyone shoot steel cased ammo out of your Glock on a regular basis?

I am looking at getting a case of Brown Bear 115gr 9mm, but I have never used steel stuff out of my Glock. I am sure it could chew up a few of them without issue, but how would 1000 rounds of it fare? Thanks

I put perhaps 500 rounds of Wolf through my 19 without any problem. I can't imagine that 500 more would hurt it. :) The steel used in these cases is much softer than that used in the extractor, let alone the Tenifer-treated barrel, if this is what you were wondering.

As always, I will give the advice to try a box or two and see how it functions in your gun before going out and buying a case(s).

I've never tried it (and I won't).

That steel case wearing on the steel feed ramp and steel chamber makes me nervous. It may not be a problem but I'm not willing to risk it.

I have a couple thousand rounds of steel case blazer through my g36 not a hickup.

GLOCKs don't care whether the ammo is brass, steel or aluminum. I have a 9mm with way over 50,000 rounds through it- including over 5,000 Wolf steel case and a 40 with over 40,000 rounds through it- including several cases of Wolf and Silver Bear. The only caveat is that some of the Silver Bear stuff that I have shot had super hard primers. Striker fired guns don't have a lot of inertia, so I have had a few failures to fire on the first strike.

I've shot plenty of animal brand ammo out of my Glock, no problem. Your Glock should be able to digest whatever you put through it. Buy the Bear Ammo.

I've put about 1000 rounds of Wolf through my G26 so far, and have another 1000 sitting in the closet. So far, so good.

I've shot 200 rounds of "Barnaul" (also Russian ammo) polymer coated steel cased 9mm 115 grs in my Glock 17 without problems today. Accuracy was good too, I think I will buy a few more cases when I go to the gun shop next time, it's so damn cheap! :D

3 boxes worth. Only failure to feed I had was the monarch ammo. Smelled terrible, dirtier than normal. Wasn't worth the $4/100 cost savings.

Have since switched to Wedge specials for the range (carry ammo always factory).
