Pretty expensive, but if they are that much better than others I guess they are worth it. Anyone with experience? Let me know. I think I will order one for my Model 28.

I have a set for my 686 along with their loading block. A shiny piece of art that is perfectly functional.

Yes. I have some for a GP100. They work great and have a nice, positive open-close mechanism. I also like the fact that the lock the cartridges in place turning clockwise, and release them turning counterclockwise.

One thing about 5-star is the make speedloaders that no one else does, that fit a whole mess of different revolvers, including .500 S&W guns and 8-shot .357 magnums.

But I'm a Safariland Comp II man, I just find they work faster and more reliably than either 5-star or HKS. I use my revolvers for defense, so this is most important to me, but 5-Star makes quality and they'll have almost anything you can dream of.

5-Star is the only manufacturer that I could find that makes loaders for my Ruger SP101 in .32 H&R Magnum. They are nicely finished with tight tolerances. I'm happy.

I have several HKS speedloaders for my Dan Wesson and S&W revolvers but purchased a couple 5 Stars for our Ruger LCR. I won't be buying any more HKS speedloaders.

I think they are head a shoulders better...the 5 Stars that is.

Thanks for the responses. I ordered on for an N frame .357. If I like it, I will order more and some for 44 mag, L frame .357 and maybe J frame .357, although I already have some J frame others.

I've got a set of four for my S&W 351C....only source for this revolver (7-shot .22 WMR). They are well made little jewels and are very functional. Good cartridge retention while rattling about my vest pocket, & have not inadvertently dumped any rounds yet. Works like the HKS. I like them.

My wife's gun is a 386 Nightguard, 7 shot 357. Not real popular. I figured it was on me to figure out the best way to reload it (I don't have any revolvers). I bought a couple speed strips, HKS, some rubber speed loader and a 5 Star.

The 5 Star is the best by far, I sent her to a 2 day defensive handgun course with 4 of them...oh, I had to figure out how to make gear out of kydex so she could have a holster and pouches.
