It is such an inefficient use of space that I would only consider it if I had only half the number of longguns that the gunsafe could handle in the normal fashion.
Luckily, my situation is that I have far too many for my gunsafes.

I've also pictured a horizontal slide-out system, either pegboard that slides out of the wall/cabinet with rifles mounted on it or really deep pigeonholes with the riflestocks presented to the user.
I wonder if I could find an old wall of P.O. boxes somewhere and put plastic gutters and supports behind it?
