Anyone using Silhouette in 40 S&W?

Tried 7.0gr Silhouette with Montana Gold 155gr JHP out of my Glock 23. Ramshot's data says start 6.9gr for 1100fps - 7.4gr for 1170fps with an XTP @ 1.135" I loaded up 10 with 7.0gr, ran them across my Chrony for 977fps (77 degrees). Not even close to the advertised velocity. Loaded another batch up with 155gr Rainer PFP and 7.0gr Silhouette, got 969fps. Consistent, and not even close to Ramshots data. Wonder if anyone else has noticed this or if I just have a really really slow batch. I'm using CCI SP primers, OAL of 1.127".

I had hoped these would run around 1100 fps and then work up to max or 1150fps (to duplicate Federal HST 155gr loads at 1150 fps). I know I can hit the velocity with Unique and Power Pistol but I was interested in the low flash properties of Silhouette.

I have no problem matching published velocities with Silhouette in 40, 10 and 45. Check you chrony and scales.

I recently tried 7.1 Grs Silhouette in .40 with a 155 Gr bullet at 1.145 OAL (Over recommended max for .40), and got an average of 988 FPS in my sons new 4" SD40VE at 61 degrees and 41% RH.

Boy, you guys are getting some slow loads. I'm going to have to check "My" chrony and see if I am in error.

OAL. 1.145 is over the max OAL for .40. I did not write that clearly.

I shoot 6.6grs under a 180, get 1050 FPS out of a 6" barrel.
