I recently acquired one of these scales for x-mas and I was never really impressed with it. I noticed that i wasn't getting consistent readings from a known weight, and somehow it was reporting that weight was getting heavier gaining a few tenths of a grain every time i weighed it. But then it started being consistent and I thought this was ok. Then all of the sudden, my know weight was 5 full grains heavier. I changed the batteries and re-calibrated the scale and that didnt help.
I have a very accurate and high quality Ohaus scale, but its only accurate to .24 of a grain. I got the MTM one because that was supposed to be accurate to .1 grain. My question is, should I exchange this MTM scale for another one that's hopefully not broken? Or should i not even waste my time with such a cheap scale? Or do you think my Ohaus is good enough at .24 grains?
