Don't get me wrong, I liked Elvis. But...

Elvis was a celebrity with a Python.

That celebrity didn't do anything historic with that Python. That makes that Python worth a small premium, but not $7,000 worth.

The way I read it was that it wasn't even Elvis' Python, it was given by him as a gift. I wouldn't think it'd be worth a lot more than any other Python in good condition.

If the connection to Elvis is verifiable, then there are people who will pay more than they would for an identical gun with no connection.
We've done back and forth on this topic a bunch of times here. Some say guns are just machines and it doesn't matter who owned it or what he did with it. Others say guns are valuable pieces of history with lessons to teach us.
What it really comes down to is whether or not you value a story enough to pay extra for a gun that has a verifiable one.
