I was at home today, lifting some weights when my dad calls me from work.

"Hey Nick, how'd you like to buy a pistol?"

My interest peaked when I heard pistol.

So, I asked what was being sold and how much. It turns out a guy my dad knows knows a guy who wants to sell a Heritage .22 revolver. I've seen them in the shooter's bible, but couldn't remember what kind of asking price they were new. My father then told me that this guy wanted to sell it for 75 bucks.

"What's wrong with the gun/seller?" was my next question.

It turns out there's nothing wrong with the gun. 6.5" barrel, no wear or tear on the gun at all. It comes with all the original papers, box, a box of .22 mag bullets, a .22 LR and .22 mag cylinder, a gun-lock, and even the original price sticker on the side of the box! The guy paid 200 dollars for the gun when he bought it, and he's never fired it. So, he hands me a few shells and tells me to go see if I like it.

At this point, I'm eager to see if there really IS anything wrong with this gun. However, the empty cardboard beer carton lying on the side of a farm-road about a mile or two away from my father's workplace, which just happens to be filled with 6 .22 caliber bullet holes, tends to put a very good argument for the gun's mechanical stability.

But I gotta tell ya, those .22 magnums sure are loud.

At this point I'm trying to decide whether or not it's right to steal from old men. I figure this gun could easily fetch 150, due to it's shape and everything that comes with it. So, this is my question: how much would this gun fetch me? I've already got a .22 pistol, it was my grandfather's and I'm never getting rid of it. I don't need another gun like this, even though I am a revolver fan. For this new gun, with everything new in box (still in plastic, even), how much can I expect?

Pic below, I got a bit of my knees in the picture.

then that's 25 bucks I've made. As long as I get something out of it, I'll be happy.

Hi Deer Hunter,

$100.00? Hell that is like a 34% profit. Anybody wants to downgrade you for that, maybe they can name ANY other investment that will give you that rate of return overnight.

Kevin

If i look hard enough i can find them here in
Phoenix for 150 bucks or so.I alway though
they would make a decent plinker for the
cash you're spending.

I'm going to try asking around $125 for the gun, and we'll see where it goes from there. I'm not going under $100, however. I need to make something off this gun to cover the gas used in the process. :barf:

I wouldn't think twice about starting your asking price at $150 and be willing to got down to about $125. Most these pistols go for between $110 and $150 on gunbroker and that doesn't include shipping and NIC/FFL transfer fees.

I bought one recently for $125 used at a gun store. Mine was in great condition but had been fired.....they run that price new from SOG.

But....

add $20ish for shipping
add $15 for transfer

total $160......

so mine was used a bit and I saved $35. I wouldnt hesitiate to ask $125.

Mine has been a great plinker - no problems to date. Mine also a 6.5" barrel with both cylinders. Mine has more traditional looking wood grips, not near as much color as yours.

Some of them have steel frames and are worth ($~40 ) more than the ones with aluminum frames....

If it was me, I'd keep it. You're not likely to find another 22 revolver, NIB, for $75.00. You say you've got a 22 pistol? Doesn't matter. Keep it anyway. You can never have too many 22's.

you can never have too many .22s and if you do, they make good presents to those without them. except for that one guy in every gun crowd that HATES .22s

Well, I broke down when my sister came home from college. She fell in love with the pistol, so as my sister, she got a special discount. 85 bucks out the door, with everything that came with the gun.

She's got a WWI british .22 training rifle, trapdoor peep-sight target gun that is the sweetest .22 I've ever shot, and she needed a companion for it.

I played the .22 matchmaker. I'm happy she's got the gun, I know she'll keep it safe and have fun with it.
