In a galaxy far, far away...
One of the characters on the show got busted for trying to smuggle in a handgun into the hospital. I couldn't tell what it was. The scene was short and I'm not that good at identifying guns on screen anyway. Anyone recognize what it was?

Normally the show has an anti outlook on guns. Last night's episode was so-so.

I only caught a glimpse as well, but I'm almost thinking it was a Sig 229 or the like.
I'm certainly not sure, though.

thanks to being sick the last few days, i've had the distinct displeasure of watching syndicated reruns of shows like 'nypd blue' and 'law & order'. (what? you think i'm gonna watch crappy soap operas or daytime talk shows?)

i had some problem with the episodes of nypd blue, in which the father of delores mayo retrieved a handgun from the paper towel dispenser of a courthouse, and proceeded to attempt to murder malcolm cullinen. how do you get a handgun into a courthouse, when everyone has to go through security checkpoints?

and on law & order, it was actually pretty good. a scumbag racist was killing minorities with a shotgun. somehow they were able to determine from the birdshot that it was the same ammunition in different victims. (does ballistic fingerprinting work on shotguns?) they discovered it was a double barrelled sawed-off being used, and later when the suspect was released he switched up to a single barreled sawed off. but the last victim the scumbag killed was with his daughter, who then killed the scumbag with a concealed handgun. nice to see that although it ended in tragedy, it was a heroic ending. the handgun looked to be a 1911, carried by a black female. it looked like a kimber, but i couldnt be positive.

and there was a bizarre old episode of 'the outer limits' about partisan fighters in the aftermath of WWII (or so it appeared). had two characters (one man, one woman) who meet up and develop a friendship. they each had battle rifles, and the woman was also carrying a large butcher knife tucked into her waistband. the funny thing was when she shot her rifle, they didnt even use blanks or props. the 'shot' was a special effect that sounded more like a 'zing' than a 'crack'. and the barrels of their rifles were capped. odd to see the camera focus in on the shooter from a front profile and see no hole in the barrel.

I saw it and while I couldn't identify the gun in question, I am getting annoyed at this show's anti gun message. I don't think they can go more than two episodes without injecting one into the show. Last night's scene was fairly neutral, almost to the point of confusing when taking into account how they usually treat handguns. :cuss: geegee

Of the two hospitals near me, only one has a sign that said that "guns must be checked in with security". The hospital my son was born at had no sign saying "no guns allowed" so therefore it was legal for me to carry my CCW in.

I guess Arizona is a little different than other places.

The ER I work at everyone coming in the door either goes through a walkthrough detector or gets wanded. Security knows me well enough that I get neither (to much paperwork I guess).

People are requested to leave mace, pepper spray, knives and guns with security or take them back to their car.

Nope, and happy to say I've seen exactly NONE of their episodes. When I saw that wimp with the shaved head (Edwards?) was starring, it vanished from my ken.

Wife wants to move from Utah....you guys are making me more staunch about staying!
I can walk into any Church, School, or anywhere else (except secured areas) with my CCW....
:neener:

Wasn't total gun nerd when I looked out for the pistol. Poor lighting & really quick glimpse, but I think it was a CZ something or other...

I think it was too small for a CZ97. In fact it looked smaller then my 75. BUT the grip and the trigger guard (the only two easyy to see features) looked very much like a CZ. My guess is one of the compact CZs, beats me which one.

Anybody else having trouble with doubletaps? I am. ;)

It looked kinda like a Beretta Cougar, too. Anybody got Tivo?

I watch ER for fun and because Mrs. G really likes it. Seems to me the characters are too much into playing musical matresses to be claiming the moral high ground about guns like they do. I guess that's just the way the left sees things. I'd be surprised if ole "One Arm" Romano wasn't packin', though. He seems like the type to take control of his own destiny.

Hey Spaceman,

The old Twilight Zone had an episode like this. Charles Bronson was the man and Elizabeth Montgomery was the woman. I don't think she said anything during the whole show. It was cute when she put on a wedding gown with her combat boots, rifle, belt and that knife. Great episode because a very young Liz Montgomery reminds me of my oldest daughter.

On a previous episode, Carter scolded a wounded citizen from a shooting in a park when the injured man stated that if he had a weapon, he could have stopped the assailant.

I forget the exact exchange of words, but the show is definitely anti-gun.
