I'm wondering if it has mechanical hammers or recoil operated? I have a Savage Fox double and when I pull the trigger the hammer falls. Even if the gun does not fire, if I pull the trigger again the 2nd hammer falls. It does not need recoil to set the 2nd hammer.

How does the stoeger work?

I have an Uplander by Stoeger. Single trigger no hammers [internal lock] no recoil required for second round, however you must release and resqueeze to fire second barrel. This is done to prevent doubling.

Many single trigger Stoegers have an inertial trigger reset, requiring recoil or a bump on the ground to reset the second trigger.

I researched this a while back, ended up deciding that when I do pick one up, it will have two triggers...
