I have several Sigs and love them. I usually carry a Sig 229 in .357 but i love .45s. I have a full size 220 but its too much to carry for any length of time. Anyone here carry the compact 220? I'd like to hear your evaluation of the compact Sig. I will occasional carry my Kimber CDPII Pro but like the DA/SA versus the cocked and locked mode of travel with the shorter 1911.

I had one with the beavertail which caused no issues with me...I found it a bit large for a compact but compact is a relative term...it is easier to conceal than a P220 or Carry but I sold mine to a coworker...

Go figure...a short time later I searched out a P245 (basically the same pistol, earlier version with the stamped steel with pinned breechblock but surprisingly to me just a hair lighter)...in the proper holster, I have a P220 with a shorter grip area but all the comfort and accuracy of the other P220s...

Many owners claim theirs is even MORE accurate than their P220...I find that hard to believe but with the proper holster (I bought a Harrier model from Nitingale leather)...it is comfortable all day and comforting with its caliber...shoots identically to my P220 and will use any of the magazines that work with the full sized pistols.

...if you like the P220...you'll like the P220 Compact or even a P245...

I use the Sig p245 (essentially the same as the present 220 compact) as my primary .45 ccw. It is light, accurate and reliable. It is small enough to carry well but the grip is long enough to get all my fingers around it (as opposed to some pistols where the little finger will not fit onto the grilp). I have several thousand rounds through mine with no problems. I carry it IWB in a Highnoon holster and have a spare mag IWB on the opposite side. I've tried a lot of other .45's and have always come back to the 245. Good luck.

I used to carry a steel frame, Para LDA Black Watch Companion in .45 ACP. Bit heavy but I always felt confident the gun was invisible in public. A compact P220 should be similar.

I guess I'm in the market for another CCW. P220 Compact seems to fit me nicely and not as bulky, heavy or long as my full size 220.

My wife asks me why I need so many handguns? I ask, why do you need so many shoes, purses or dresses? She says, "well, I have to wear nice clothes don't I." I say, "Yes you do." " I have to have nice reliable handguns in order to make certain we are protected from harm when out and about or at home."
She agreed with me----a first!

Truthfully, I really don't need all the guns I have---but it's my passion.
My passion is not limited to pistols---add in rifles, revolvers, shotguns and various assault weapons. Two large gun safes and three custom presentation gun cabinets plus numerous drawers and a large walk-in closet aka panic room are dedicated to my collection. Tell me many on this forum are like me.
