Anyone written a letter to their reps yet?

Sens. Kaine and Warner, and Congressman Connolly, are dyed in the wool antigunners. They send me tons of antigun spam. I don't think writing to them would do a bit of good.

Ahhh, an opportunity for my first post on THR. And I'll maybe get banned for it. It was not to a particular representative but the Republican party headquarters in Washington, D.C. and Nevada.

Mod Edit:

No, not banned, but we don't do politics, hate towards others, nor foul language here at THR, so edited, yes..

Thanks for writing and letting your pro gun thoughts be known in Washington. We need more of this.

And by the way, it was a real letter, stamp and everything, not an email.

THIS ^^^

REAL LETTERS, 50 or more per issue, to a single office. Sad isn't it? Yes it's sad but true, such a paltry # of letters gives ANY politician at ANY political level ''cause for pause''

Maybe, maybe not, but it is the only legal avenue I have to influence legislature until re-election time, so I continue to let them know where I stand, every chance I get. I might never change their minds, but they need to know who they represent.

For those who find it overwhelming, some of the advocacy sites (FPF, FPC, GOA, NRA-ILA) will have a notice of impending bills, an (editable) form letter that will be sent automatically to your representatives with a click, and you don't even have to be a member or pay them anything for the simplicity.

Yes, last night.
Senaters Rubio and Scott along with House Rep. Crist, got a polite e-mail expressing my desire to see NO MORE firearms restriction that will only affect the law abiding.
Universal background checks will never happen among the lawless that steal and trade in those stolen guns, oh and drugs.
I have severe reservations about my two Republican Senators. Rubio has advanced red flag legislation. And if you don't remember when Scott was Florida's governor he jerked his knee so hard those under 21 lost long guns and the red flag flies.
Charlie Crist, once bragged he was a Reagan type conservative, abandoned the governor's mansion to run for the senate, GOP denied him so he went independent, and now is a Democrat in the House.

I'm not expecting much.

Don’t underestimate the impact of letters and calls to your representatives. They have a real impact. And it doesn’t take that many. A 100 letters or calls to a Congressman or Senator on an issue is a lot and gets their attention.

I’ve written my Senators and Congressman. The letter was simple. If you support any gun legislation, I will vote against you. The strength of gun owners has always been that gun owners will vote based on that issue alone. Let your representatives know that you support the Second Amendment and will express that support at the ballot box.

Real letters don't arrive at congressional offices for several weeks. They are first taken to a facility where they are scanned to ensure they don't have any hazardous materials in them. When they do arrive they are basically toasted and low level staffers open and read them. If the staffer doesn't agree with what's in the letter the chances the congress critter will ever see or even hear what was in the letter is very close to zero.

If you want to physically send correspondence to them use a postcard.

This is really Activism as compared to General, thus a close with no prejudice.
