I don't see why not...the bore is 1/2" which is the upper limit of non-DD guns other than shotguns.

ah perfect!, ive been looking for a rifle for my armour plated T-Trex hunt next month......this looks like it will fit the bill perfectly.

Yeah ... my fillings hurt just thinking about shooting that cartridge.

Shoulder wouldn't take much beating -

They make a mount that goes on a 5th wheel hitch for your pickup truck.

"That? That's not a boomstick."

{release the bed cover on the pickup truck and raise up the turreted 20mm}

"THIS is a boomstick!"

So that whole limiting calibers to .50 without a tax stamp really seems to be working. Where there is a law, there's some redneck-southern boy trying to figure out how to flout the law and get away with it while smiling the whole time and saying "what it's legal." As a redneck-southern boy I can say that :neener:

How long before Winchester offers the Winchester Anzio Super Short Unbelievably Powerful version, aka the .50 WASSUP Mag?

you know, im not so sure how strict the AFT is in enforcing that rule if they granted the .950 JDJ 'sporting use exception'........

.50 WASSUP

I like how that sounds...

If they Headstamped it like that i'd buy a round just to have on the shelf as a coversation piece.

Ain't no way i'm buying or shooting a rifle that'd shoot something like that! but i'd buy a single cartridge just for the headstamp if that was created under that name.

WOW! I've got a AR-50 and the recoil isn't bad at all, but I t'd be thinking twice about touching off that necked down 20mm in any type of rifle I could pick up! The noise has to be real trip for sure.

Dude, that is BONKERS!!

Among interesting Wiki facts:
-Power-parity with WWI tank rounds
-"Impossible to use as a hunting platform"
-Severe injury to shooter if shot unmounted
-~38,000ft-lbf of energy
-Capable of passing through several armored humans (an understatement, I'm sure)

And yet...
they granted the .950 JDJ 'sporting use exception'........

And still they won't allow "armor piercing" bullets for common-folk:rolleyes:

I wonder what the barrel life is like on that thing?!!
I'll bet the Ammo-Cost/Barrel-Life ratio is about the same as other magnums:p. Who cares, though; that's gotta be like 50$ a shot anyway:D

Haha who cares?! You only need one shot because it will shoot through ANYTHING.

It's your shoulder-life that one should be concerned with.

I like big guns and *I* would flinch touching that off.

Even suppressed, that's a really big boom, and it shoves the shooter back about a foot - despite laying prone!

^^^^^I must say, that does not look fun. I'm not sure the guy was even aiming at anything at anything in particular--just trying to endure through the magazine.

AP ammo is perfectly legal to sell and possess, so long as it's not for a handgun. So is explosive ammunition, as long as it contains 1/4 ounce (7 grams) or less explosive compound, hence why the Mk 211 Raufoss .50 rounds are legal (if you can find them, and if you're ready to pony up ~$80/round).

Man, I'm thinking about ordering one of these.

I posted this early this morning.

Had a REALLY long, rough day at work.

I could see this being the "penultimate recoil-therapy" device.

(The ultimate, obviously being a Minigun.)

I tried to buy one of these two years ago, but the guy at anzio wouldn't sell me the reloading dies so i figured i would have an eight thousand dollar piece of junk if the buisness went under. I'm not a good enough machinist to make my own reloading dies.
