AOW into a SBS?

Is it legal to convert an AOW into a SBS? I have a hankering to get into NFA guns and I think a Serbu Super Shorty with a Knoxx folding Comp Stock would be a nice addittion to my Mossberg collection.

I think you'd just have to pay the tax twice; once for the purchase of the AOW ($5) and another $200 for the SBS and you'd have to put it on a different form (I forget which form is for what). Alternatively, I bet you could ask the people at Serbu to just make you an SBS.

Thanks, I knew I would have to shell out $5 then $200 and go through the rigamarole twice but I wasn't sure if there was some odd ATF once an AOW, always an AOW type of clause.

Legal, yes, but you'll need to pay $200 on a Form 1.

I also bet that Mark would make you an SBS instead of an AOW if you asked nicely.
