Appendix carry vs. strong side hip carry

Anyone else carry this way full time?
I do; unless I'm casually dressed, in which case I carry at 4 o'clock.

At 1:30, I don't have a round in the pipe. Not usually, that is. I feel that the advantage in drawing it from this position balances the fraction of time lost in racking the slide, which works right in with bringing the gun on target. The only disadvantage I can think of here is that it doesn't hold much promise for one whose support hand is occupied, restrained, injured, or missing. But the possible tradeoff is, just as you implied, five or six quarts of blood to mop up.

Today's mantra, boys and girls, is: "Remember rule #2... remember rule #2... remember rule #2... but if you don't, please remember the others."

For various reasons, not least of which is that Southern heat discourages over-garments, I carry a S&W Bodyguard in my trouser pocket. It's tough to get to when behind the wheel, though.

I carry a Glock 27 in condition 1 in a Bladetech IWB about 95% of the time.

I appoligize if I'm going off topic from the original question/purpose of this thread and I am also NOT intending to turn this into a anti-glock thing. But...

I've never thought of a Glock being able to classified as in a condition 1 mode (unless one of those after-market safeties is installed).

My understanding of pistol readiness:
Condition 0 = round chambered, cocked, safety off
Condition 1 = round chambered, cocked, safety on (cocked-n-locked)
Condition 2 = round chambered, hammer down, safety either on or off (DA)
Condition 3 = empty chamber w/ a charged mag.

How does the S.A.F.E. action trigger affect this consideration?
Striker is half-way cocked? Right?
Would a Glock be condition 0 or 2?
I feel a Glock is closer to cond. 0; especially if it were to have a lighter trigger pull than stock.

Smith 642, Bell Charter Oak "Deep Drop Bandit" between my right front pocket and belt buckle...has worked well for about a year now.........
....err, hypothecically of course....I live in Kansas ;)

Me too also...

I have been carrying this way for the last few months, since I got my S&W 6906. It fits my style of dress (jeans/shorts and T-shirt) and prints very little. I use a generic nylon IWB which works adequately, but I'm looking for something tuckable in leather....lots of great choices just can't decide.
Thing I like about the 6906 is the ability to have the safety on hammer down while muzzle is pointed toward my stuff.....a little more comforting knowing if the safety snicks of inadvertantly there is still a long DA pull.
