I've been looking at all the comparison threads, and one thing stands out. A lot of them don't compare pistols of similar size, capacity, action, barrel length, price range, etc. So, it makes it more difficult to evaluate weapon against weapon.
You cannot put Secretariat next to a zebra, and call it a fair comparison.
Here's my feeble attempt at finding a few examples of fair comparisons of pistols and why I think so:
Browning Hi-Power vs. CZ 75B Single Action 9mm
(Hi-cap, steel frame, full size, SA, under $700 USD)
Walther PPK vs. SIG P232 vs. Bersa Thunder 380
(Size, caliber, mag capacity, under $700 USD)
Some may argue the Bersa's low price tag rules it out, but it seems to perform at the level of the other two.
Glock 17 vs. Springfield XD9
(Hi-cap, polymer, service size, striker fired)
Walther P22 vs. Firestorm 22
(Caliber, size, mag capacity, blowback)
Alloy frame vs. polymer, but its still close.
Am I full of Shinola? Probably. Let's see what you can add.
