Saw a report on Fox where Appleseed was being investigated for being a militia organization. I just about lost it with that one. They showed film footage of folks shooting 22 rifles.

Quietman--Massad really nailed the Appleseed experience, and philosophy! Gooood reportage! Thx for putting it here on THR!

The only thing I'd add to Massad's advice is, ELBOW PADS!! Shooting prone for hours, with elbows that aren't already leathery, is hard on the elbow skin. I've seen volleyball-type pads used to good effect--my own favorite is a pair of skateboarders' pads, and if the elbows still start getting sore, a soft bandage beneath everything.

That's not the Fox report I saw this morning. It said nothing about being a militant group. What I saw was an AR type rifle and a couple bolt actions on the news snippet. Also talked about combining History and safe use of firearms. Maybe you saw the Democrat version. LOL

You'll find what's "leftist" to one is centrist or rright-wing to another.

Either way, so long as they are at least trying to explain and educate about the event, good for them...if they're trying to spin it into some doomsday cult type nonensese, then the reason i read my news from sources that really don't give a darn about us is still valid.
