I'm planning a "shooty goodness" outing with a bunch of students from the University of Arizona, and wanted to invite any Tucson-area THR members.
The students will be meeting at my apartment at 11:00am to go over safety and basic gun handling techniques, and we'll leave for the range around 11:30, probably arriving at the range (the Tucson Rifle Club on the Ajo Highway) around 12:00-12:30.
It'd probably be better logistically for THR members to meet us at the range, rather than at the apartment.
Among other things, I'll be bringing a Ruger MkIII pistol, suppressed 10/22, M1 Garand, Rem 700 in .30-06, and a few others. I'm short on .30-06 ammo, having less than 200 rounds of reloads here, but have about 4,000 rounds of .22LR, both super and subsonic.
I loaned my AR to a friend, so if someone could bring an AR, Mini-14, or other .223 rifle, AK variant, or any other intermediate-cartridge rifle, that'd be ideal. I have a bunch of Wolf 7.62x39mm and .223, if that'd be fun too. Any suppressed guns, or .22LR guns threaded for a suppressor with 1/2x28tpi threads (I have a .22LR suppressor), would be particularly good for getting new shooters comfortable.
