...and the anniversary of a lot of other truly historical events too. One of those events, back in 1775, is one of the main reasons that we have the 2nd Amendment. It was on that day that the Shot Heard Round The World was fired, and the American Revolution was begun with fighting at Lexington, MA, then at Concord, and other towns near Boston. If I recall my history correctly the British moved on Concord to seize an arms cache that was stored there. They got their other ends whooped by the militia and Minutemen who defended Concord and then harried the Bristish back to Boston.

An awful lot of other historically significant things have taken palce on this day, a lot of them pretty bloody. Many of them, such as the Jewish uprising in the Warsaw Ghetto against Nazi Occupation show the importance of the right to keep and bear arms (too bad they had not revolted sooner, maybe they would have stood a chance). Another event, hopefully a peaceful one, that will be historical is taking place today with the visit of the Pope to the USA.

All the best,

Happy Anniversary Brother. May God Bless the years that lie ahead.

"Firearms stand next in importance to the Constitution itself. They are the American people's liberty teeth and keystone under independence ... From the hour the Pilgrims landed, to the present day, events, occurrences, and tendencies prove that to insure peace, security and happiness, the rifle and pistol are equally indispensable . . . The very atmosphere of firearms everywhere restrains evil interference - they deserve a place of honor with all that is good" ~George Washington

Glenn- Happy day after your anniversary!

Just watched the movie (and a couple others from same maker) with my kids. Great stuff!
