No this is not a typical " Can AR-10's be shot left handed" type of question, it is more specific.
I am getting ready to put together, or more accurately have an AR-10 put together.
My AR-15's have the forward assist/brass deflector, and have never been an issue with my shooting left handed.
My Ar-10 upper is a DPMS oracle ( I think) WITHOUT dust cover ( no big deal) or forward assist ( again, no big deal ) BUT, it also lacks the brass deflector.
Am I likely to get hit by brass with no deflector??
I used to have an AR-180, neat gun, BUT no brass deflector and it would bounce brass off of my right earmuff!!! Very irritating, and one of the reasons I sent it down the road.
Getting a different upper is really not a big deal, but, I would rather do it now than after, IF its going to be an issue.
