I'm at a quandary for my Spikes 308 build and I'm down to two things ... trigger and optic.

This is going to be set up as a long range (600-1000 yard) shooter in 6.5 Creedmoore or Creedmore or Creedmoor ... (I'm not sure of the correct spelling but have searched under all 3 and they all turn up results on GunBroker.)

I've ordered a JP Enterprise barrel/bolt/carrier, gas system, handguard and their silent captured buffer spring, Magpul grip and Luth-AR MBA-1 Precision Adjustable stock ... my brass and bullets are on order along with a new tool head, powder drop and dies for my Dillon 550b

Now you know the basic's ...

I've always liked the RRA 2-stage 4-4.5 pound triggers but I've decided to go for something nicer ... something that breaks around 3 pounds and preferably 2 stage.

I've looked at the CMC AR-15 2-stage with the flat trigger ... but at the $195 price point I'm willing to look around ... I know everyone raves about Geissele but they have a gazillion different models and if I need a notched hammer to work in the 308 I want to order it that way. (I've ran into this before on a DPMS LR308 and had to grind it down myself because they wouldn't take it back since it had been installed).

Also, I still haven't decided on an optic ...
I like the Leupold Vari-X III Scope 6.5-20x50mm Long Range M1 but what I've seen has 1/4" clicks and I want something with 1/8" clicks so maybe a NightForce ... and from what I've read I think I want something with a first focal plane and an etched reticle ... I'd like to keep it close to the 1K range.

For triggers I would highly recommend the AR Gold offering. They offer an AR10 drop-in that should work fine.

For scopes, I would not recommend a 1/8" click scope unless you REALLY like spending time turning knobs. Most tactical scopes are 1/4 MOA or .1 Mil (.36 inches @ 100y) for a reason - that's the level of adjustability you need. My starting point would be a SWFA SS 3-15. It may not be the scope you end up with, but it offers a compelling enough feature set and quality at a low price that I'd want to clearly understand what was motivating buying something else. Vortex viper PSTs and at slightly more money Burris XTR IIs have to be in the conversation too I'd think.

I got a geissele national match dmr trigger. love it. Was leery of adjustable trigger until I watched Mr. Geiselle himself on youtube explaining it. Glad I got it and glad I hit the 25% off sale at primary arms. My rifle is a 6.5creedmoor

I would get the AR Gold triggers AR10 trigger. I have the AR15 one and it is awesome! it also has the ability to be adjusted lower to if you want a lighter trigger which I did. It feels awesome, is very light, and with its secondary sear is also very safe. It feels very similar to a high end 1911 trigger if you have any of them.

I have Geiselle triggers on all my AR's and absolutely love them. I have shot a few AR's (both 10's and 15's) with the AR Golds in them and I have to admit, they were pretty sporty feeling. Nice a crisp break and easily adjusted for weight. My next build may just include one since they are quite a bit cheaper in price than my G's.

I'm personally in love with my Velocity Trigger, 3lbs and straight trigger.
I picked mine up for 130 with shipping. My friend has a Giessele something and he likes it a lot but after trying mine, he's looking around for something better than my Velocity. :D

The reset is short, the break is crisp, the travel is really short, I really could not be happier with a trigger for my AR.
