So my brand new AR-10 just made it's first trip to range. Everything was cool (aside from all springs being really stiff, causing a couple of short strokes on the first two fully loaded magazines), up until my Eotech 552 apparently decided that it was done for the day and tried to escape over my friend's shoulder.

I am not sure why or how it got loose; I was using the thumbscrew with a liberal application of blue Loctite, but come loose it did, and it was only my friend's ninja-like reflexes that saved it from hitting the ground.

As an interim, I switched to the cap head allen screw now with even more Loctite, figuring that would allow me to create a little more torque. However, this got me thinking about other mounting solutions for the sight.

I'm interested in the GG&G Accucam base, which replaces the standard mounting screw setup up I have now. I have not been able to find a whole lot of reviews on it, positive or otherwise. That having been said, I have owned quite a few other things from the boys in Tucson, AZ, and have always been impressed.

I've also looked at the LaRue mount, but am leaning away from that because it really doesn't change how the sight attaches in any meaningful way. Also, the riser at the aft end of the LaRue would require me to purchase a different magnifier, which I am not interested in doing.

TLDR; Can anybody comment on the GG&G Eotech Accucam mounts, or does anyone know of an A.R.M.S. type mount I could retrofit, or does anyone have any advice on how to keep my sight from leaping off of my rifle?

Sounds odd. Maybe it isn't the amount of Loc-tite you're using. Maybe it is the type? Maybe switch from blue to red? I dunno... Maybe the rail it is mounted on is out of spec? While loc-tite is cheap, it would be annoying for it to come flying off at every range trip. Might try another optic on top and see if the rings from that one come off the rail?

I thought about trying some Red Loctite, but in my time as a small engine tech working himself through college, I have developed a VERY healthy respect for Red Loctite, and am somewhat reluctant to use it on anything I ever want to be able to remove.

The rail appears to be in spec, I dug out my 1913 reference sheet and calipers, and everything seems to be in order. It's the rail on top of an Armalite A4 receiver. We tried mounting my friend's A.R.M.S. equipped sight, and it didn't move.

The only thing I can think of is that I played around with my Eotech the day I mouted it instead (finished the rifle same day, took the sight off, put it on, like a kid on Christmas. I couldn't be helped) of letting the Loctite do it's thing.

Degrease all the screws and the rail first; sometimes there is oil on them from manufacture or storage.

Then, reapply the blue Loc-tite.

I can't imagine any Lock-Tight being needed.
They are designed from the getgo to be easily detachable without tools.

Seems to me the Pictinny rail might be out of spec on your gun, so it isn't getting a good solid clamp bite on it.
