I have built three AR 15 rifles from parts and was toying with the idea of picking up an 80 percent receiver. My father recently acquired a commercial grade drill press from a shop and a couple of lathes. He also has a number of mics and other gauges from my grandfather who was a screw machine operator. If I didn't have the equipment, I probably wouldn't do this, but I thought what the heck. My dad is a great fabricator and has even spun his own PTO shafts on the lathe for equipment.
Is there a guide or some information as to how to finish an 80 percent receiver? What other equipment might I need?
