I just got an AR with a stainless bull barrel .925" that has a green Birdsong finish (finish was added by previous owner). I was told it was all Bushmaster but I couldn't see any markings on the barrel. After removing the handguard I noticed it was marked SS for stainless steel, 1/8 for the twist and between these two markings is a W. Any idea of who made this one?

All my Bushy's are marked "B MP"

According to the Bushmaster website all the stainless uppers are 1 in 9" twist.
What kind of forge mark on the upper? Should be a keyhole.

Maybe the "W" stands for Wilson? They make a lot of AR barrels.

I just bought an AR myself, and have a similiar barrel ID issue.

The 20" barrel on my "new" Century C15 is unmarked at all, thick under the handguards, appears to be chromed, and has about a 1/7 twist. No way to identify the maker, because it's totaly unmarked.

Oh well, it does shoot good.
