AR-15 bolt inspection

I have an almost new RRA AR15 and I have a question. One of the "teeth" on the front end of the bolt is shorter than the others. Is it supposed to be like that? If so, does it go on the left or right side when inserting the bolt into the carrier?

Is it the one on the extractor? If so, it's normal.

And Armalite began shortening one of the off side bolt lugs to decrease lug wear and stress wear in the cam pin hole area.
It is conceivable that Rock River is getting at least some of their bolts from Armalite.

Thanks for the info, guys. Took the plunge and did my first field strip and cleaning of the AR today. No parts left over at the end so I guess I did it right.
