Okay I need to put a front sight on a fully railed AR-15. Now my question is what are some good brands and types? What should I be aware of? I would really like a folding front sight in case later down the road I deided to put a magnification sight on it.

I've had good luck with my Yankee Hill two-piece fold-down unit. It's not a rai-mounted model, so you get what you get. But, it does have a bayonet lug, if you care for a little bit of decoration. Pretty much any two or four rail gas block is nice and gives you flexibility. Brownells sells their own brown of fold-down site that I'm fond of as well.

Billy, I have 2 rifles set up with the 4 rail gas blocks. I had problems with front sight height with a DPMS removable fixed front sight. It was about 3/8" too tall for the rear sight. And, I had a DPMS gas block, DPMS flat top upper, and a DPMS carry handle rear sight. The other upper I have from Del-Ton and the one from DPMS are identical in height and construction. the sight issue occured on both rifles. I ended up buying a cheap flip fromt sight and converting it to a fixed sight (drill and tap, machine screw). Both rifles work perfectly, and I have a spare unusable DPMS fixed front sight paper weight:D .
