So i finally sucked it up and bought my first ar15. It's the M4 16' Rifle Kit w/ a stripped lower.

http://www.del-ton.com/Rifle_Kit_p/rkt100.htm

I'm highly technical and hands on with things, and after review of some detailed instructions, it doesnt look like it will be too difficult to build. But that aside, With this kit with stock options and a stripped lower be everything i need for the build? I would just hate to get everything and then be missing something stupid. But thanks in advance for the assistance!!

Yes you have all the pieces except the lower. Your going to get a BARAGE of information. If you need any info PM me I just bought the 20" kit from them also.

Tools (such as a stock wrench, brass punches), magazines, a rear sight...and a ton of ammo. Enjoy!

How much lead time for shipping kits are they saying these days?

I am in need if another kit, and want to know how long it will take.

thanks!

They make a swivel pin detent installation tool, but you can do it without one. You certainly need a brass hammer and you really should have a set of punches. A roll of tape is handy so you don't scratch the receiver when you install the roll pin for the bolt catch.

Depends on where you are and how long it takes them to fill the order. M-aparts.com ships the same day, while del-ton.com told me when I called them around a month ago or so that they were backed up 3-4 weeks. From Illinois to Idaho it takes around 5 business days for UPS ground, which means 1 week.

Del-ton.com has 1-2 weeks to ship on their website, which translates to 2-3 weeks to your door.

Well i purchased the kit yesterday morning, recieved a call from their office today to confirm FFL info for the lower, and everything will be shipped in the next couple days. I will have to wait for the lower's cool-down period before i can pick it up. The only real holdup I ran into was i had to upgrade the the chrome lined barrel, they were out of stock of the original one I had listed. Otherwise i should be able to take her shooting in the two weeks or so!! I'll update the post once i recieved it for those that are wondering actual ship times.

Thanks for all your input guys! I can say I have prowled theses forums for a long time now, and always get great information from here. Thanks for being High Road. It's a great resource for all needs.

Brass hammer and set of punches. I'll grab those tonight!

Instead of the hammer, if you already own a vice-grip, you can use that to drive in the triggerguard and BHO pins. Just make sure you wrap the jaws with electrical tape and go slow. Squeeze a little, and reset the jaws. Squeeze a little more, and reset the jaws. I did mine that way with no errors. Also, a 1/4" clevis pin can really help you with the front takedown pin detent...

I just ordered a custom upper from del-ton. They sent me an email two days later saying that it had been shipped.

I order last monday and recieved and shipping comfirmation this monday. According to UPS it shoulde be here today. 16" m4 kit with upgraded chrome barrel.

I am pleasantly suprised, after reading things on a few forums i thought i was looking at a 3 to 4 week wait. It looks like they have caught back up with demand.

I ordered a Stag 4H barreled upper from ar15sales.com (legaltransfers) on June 2nd. It shipped via ground on Monday and will be at my house on Monday the 16th. It looks like it was drop-shipped by Stag themselves. (CT to UT.)

They did say that orders were 4 times normal volume because of the upcoming election panic.

Well i recieved my tracking number last night! Looks like i should have it by Monday. 3 business days from placing the order to recieved isnt half bad for basic shipping.
