just got my Troy TRX battlerail standard 11inch.started the install on my BCM middy......got a Daniel Deffense low profile gas block and the bottom of the gas block is hitting the inside of the FF rail. i guess what need 2 know is witch low profile gas block do i need 2 order that will clear the FF rail

Measure the inner diameter of your Troy rail system, and order a low profile gas with a smaller outer diameter. I know that sounds like a smart butt answer, but that's the only way to know for sure.

Contact Troy. They have a few low pro gas blocks. They can fix you up.

I had a YHM low pro gas block bad out of spec. YMMV.

thanks guys:took your advice and called TROY.there low profile gas bock is being overnighted to me. since i was paying $25 for shipping went ahead and got some rail covers.i'm kinda bummed out i've never been crazy about gas blocks with set screws thats why i ordered the Daniel Defense its a clamp type....now i wonder what can i do with the DD gasblock.....LOL.anyway when i get it all put together i'll post pics

In terms of gas block attachment. . .

Taper pins > Straight pins > Set screws > Clamp.

You're actually upgrading, assuming you install the new gas block correctly.

Curious, was the DD block touching the rail at all times? I have VLTOR clamp with a TRX extreme - while its tight in there, there is enough room.

MrCleanOK.....I don't necessarily agree with your running order there - clamp is often better for the home installer as it negates the need to dimple the barrel as you should with a set screw - putting a set screw on without dimpling is way less effective than clamp. A properly well secured low profile clamp covered by a rail ain't going nowhere.

In addition, clamp is more preferred by the extreme accuracy crowd who sometimes feel the other types can impart stress on the barrel and fubar your harmonics (not that it really matters to most people).

yea i plan 2 lock the rear sett screw in the dimple BCM put in the barrel then use a transfer punch for the front 2 mark it dead center, then dimple it also
