witch one do you like?why letts not trash a brand
just witch you like and why

sorry about the spelling of armalite
sorry i left out dpms just thought about it

I bought a Colt just because that's what I had used prior to purchase. Later, I shot a Bushmaster and couldn't tell any difference at the range. Should have kept the $400 and got the Bushmaster. I've heard a few people at the range badmouth the Olympics Arms AR-15s, but I don't know. I am happy with my Colt, but I think the Bushmaster is very close in quality.

You left DPMS off the list...the third best selling AR platform??? I have two DPMS and had the above options and have not regretted it!

No offense, but, you are just going to get votes for whatever people own. The poll isn't actually going to mean anything. The people who actually have experience with them all are of the minority; a poll here is merely a popularity contest. Seen about 400 too many of these, know how it works by now. ;)

It's the same as saying, "what color car do I buy?"

I have 2 Colts, 2 Rock Rivers and a Stag Arms.
Out of all of them 2 are my High power service rifles a Colt and a RRA. The RRA has better fit and finish and was a better buy. The Colts had lousy triggers that I had replaced by compass lake (still not the greatest but were the best at the time), RRA 2-stage is a great trigger and sight corrections were always true. I think th RRA is the best deal for their price. My other colt is an M4 and the one RRA is a 9mm. The Stag is a "space gun"

I currently have a complete Colt SP1, plus all Olympic parts on a flat top FN upper. The Colt shoots very well. The Oly parts were plenty accurate when they were part of a complete Oly forged plinkster upper, and they continue to perform just fine on the FN upper - both setups were shot on the Colt lower. My next AR purchase will be a complete lower for the Oly/FN upper. Any of the major brands will suit me fine.

After that I'm lusting for either a Sabre or LMT Carbine. The fit, finish, and attention to detail I've seen on the Sabres and LMTs we stock where I work have been impressive.

I prefer CMMG or LMT . I have not owned a colt but have owned BM,RRA,Stag etc.

Like Matt304 said, I voted for what I own. I am very happy with my Rock River AR, but I wouldn't have a problem with buying a Stag, S&W, Bushmaster, or some of the others mentioned if the price was right.

My RRA is trucking along just fine. For a 16" Middy, there weren't too many to choose from that also had a two-stage trigger. RRA fit the bill, and I have no complaints.

I've been assembling my own since the early 1980s. By doing that, I get an AR-style rifle with the features I want.

Being that you alow only one vote - have to go with Colt the ONLY full mill spec rifle out there, and damn good at that.

If it were an option, I'd vote DPMS. They are made in Minnesota. I'm from Minnesota. Once I have a bit more disposable income, I plan on building an AR-15 out of DPMS parts.

I have had a chance to compare DPMS, Stag (which makes S&W), Armalite, RRA and Bushmaster. I'd say RRA has the best fit and finish, followed by Armalite. The reliability of all of them is about the same in my experience.

I'd get an LMT or Colt Defense if you are going to use it hard.

Bushmaster

I had two fully auto colts. They both jammed at different times. Have Bushmaster since 14 years never jammed. But where I live its hard to fine bushmaster.

Bushy because I own one, and it had all the features I wanted and was ready
to go. However, I would probably pick up one of my Garands for serious
work!:D

I have a Bushie and a DPMS. I prefer the DPMS. It cleans up a lot easier and my Bushie has an eating disorder from time to time.

Of the choices in your poll I would say Bushmaster, although in all fairness, I have no expereince with the other makes in your poll. I would add that I think Double Star makes an outstanding product, as good as any I have seen, at a much cheaper price than most.
