AR handguard swap

Is switching from A2 to early triangular a straight R/R or will more parts have to be changed than just the handguards?

Just grab the delta ring, yank, and switch!

Only problem could be with barrels that are very large under the hand guards, or piston types.
If you are going retro you will want a straight slipring instead of the delta ring, the barrel has to be pulled to do that though.

Thanks for the input,I wasn't sure about the delta ring ID straight vs tapered. Didn't want to spend money on the hanguards and not have them fit without changing more parts. I hate supprises and waiting on the mailman.

I need to add, both slip rings are interchangeable, the Delta style came about so you could get a better grip.
