anyone know where i can get a cheapish AR lower assembly. when I turned 18 my mom told me she would pay for half of what ever gun i wanted, so I told her to order the upper assembly for a Beowulf .50 cal. and i would get the lower assembly.;) She got it yesterday and I have yet to order the lower chassis,:banghead: any suggestions on what to get, the Beowulf is supposed to fit any AR lower assembly. so whats good at a low price.

ah yess the .50"big beufford" as I call it.......look on gun broker I sugest buying a 5.56 whole rifle then droping your upper on it this way you get 2 for 1-sorta

Sounds like you've got a cool mom like I do. I pulled one similar on my mom a while back. I needed new tires, so she bought the tires, and I bought the new wheels. ;)

I have built ALOT of rifle on Superior Arms lowers. I bought them on GunBroker for around $94 each, shipped.

For the price, I would check into CAV Arms... though I don't know if their's is .50 capable, strengthwise. I think they go for about $150 complete. Stock, lower parts kit, etc.

First, I have a Beowulf - don't get a collapsible stock - it will.

If you want to assemble it yourself there are any number of stripped lowers in the +/-$100 range that will do well; I've used several Double Stars, but just about any forged lower will work. On my Beo I have an Ace ARFX stock that was $90 and LPKs typically run ~$55-60. Once again, just about any one will suffice, but if you want to put an aftermarket trigger in consider the triggerless LPK that ADCO sells for $40. Trigger options abound in both single stage and two stage. The RRA two stage is probably the most popular, partly because it is usually the cheapest, but it's also the one about which I've seen the most gripes. I've got both single and two stage and, even though I have a single on the Beo, I think you might want a two stage on it.

You'll save money with a stripped lower and a parts kit. Stripped lowers can be had for just under $100. Parts kits are around $60. Then you just need a stock a cheap one is $30 or so.

2Ais4U, send a PM to Elkabong. He had some Stag stripped lowers for $110 awhile back. He's in Charleston and would save you some money on the shipping.

Later,
Chrome...

With the Beowulf you probably want a good fixed stock; you can get an A2 for ~$50.

That's a great idea. I'm wondering if I wouldn't opt for an A1 (5/8" shorter) and put on a nice buttpad. ;)

If cash is tight, you aren't going to be shooting your rifle that much. Not that 5.56 is cheap now,but compared to .50 Beowulf,it is.

The only thing I can add is put the RRA trigger in it. Yeah, it's an extra 120 bucks, but it is well worth the money. My last build, I used a Double Star stripped lower that I got from Bud's Gun Shop for 100 bucks out the door. If you want a completed lower, you might contact Double Star. They might be able to put a lower together with your specs. Don't know about that since I pieced mine together myself.
