Keisslers

Keisslers (ad in Shotgun News) has them for $99.00 on a regular basis. That's dealer price, BTW. They wholesale to your dealer for less, dealer charges you $99 plus tax. Last lower I bought was a bushie complete. Got it in just a few days after ordering.

Stag makes a fantastic lower and EagleFirearms.net is great to deal with. Make sure you really shop around and then give Eagle the chance to beat the best price.

I'm going for a Stag Arms (from www.eaglefirearms.net) for my January build. $145 buys you a compleat lower with grip.

Not to put anybody down, but it seems folks are always getting excited about buying a $99 lower and $50 parts kit. Have the prices of compleat lowers dropped recently, or did it always cost less to just buy it compleat? If you're putting in a lot of custom components, or get a really good deal on a stripped, or just want to have fun, I could see getting a stripped. Myself, I'm going to save $5 and some hassle and get the Stag Arms compleat.

Or is the current $145 compleat anomalous?

matt, the stag lowers were like, $79 from eagle back in the spring when i decided to build another AR and was shopping around.

i've heard nothing but good things about stag, but for the extra couple of bucks, i decided to get a RRA lower anyways.

to me, stripped stag lowers are like the sort of thing you buy 20 of as a hedge investment for some future gun ban.

Stag and RRA are both made by CMT. About the only difference is the rollmark. I have both and think the lettering on my Stag is cleaner cut.

+1 on Eagle firearms.

The $85 stripped Stag lowers @ Eagle Arms are a great deal and the $145 assembled lower isn't bad either. I usually get my lower parts kit for $45 with my C&R discount(Anybody building more than two or three rifles should pay the $30 for a C&R licence just to enjoy the discounts at Brownells and Midway) and then I add a Rock River NM trigger, so it works out better for me to assemble it myself. But if you are going with standard parts and don't have a set of punches or are afraid of springs flying across the room, by all means, get it assembled and enjoy the deal.

Stag is not only a good lower for a good price, it is most certainly up there in quality with all the big boys in the AR biz. Mine is perfect, same as my bushy, even the finish is nice.

Superior Arms Lowers From RB Precision are retailing at $96.00 stripped. Superior Lower half prices guaranteed to compete with anyone out there. HK fire control markings, pistol only engrave, and more options available. WWW.RBPRECISION.COM

bought a Stag today at a show. that plus a lower parts kit, and i walked out the door for under $170 with all the taxes added on. which IS better than what i can find on line right now, since on the web, i'd pay between $89-99 for a stripped lower, plus 50-60 for a standard LPK Plus the shipping (usually around $10 or so) THEN pay the $30 transfer fee, so at best thats $180.

so in otherwords guys, remember that unless you're bloody lucky you're going to be paying another $30-40 (based on what i'm seeing ) on top of what the web is quoting.

now if i could just find that bolt catch spring that went flying......:banghead: :cuss: the only downside i've found so far to goiing the DIY route. I was literally to the point where all i had left to do before needing to get the stock and buffer assembly to go further was get that dang stop in place, and my dumb behind fubles the lower and drops it left side down on the bench, and out goes the spring and detent! (found the detent, but the spring is awol)

i want a stripped lower because i'll be building a pistol and it's best, though not required that it never have anything in it. a stock is an absolute no-no, though. the eagle firearms link is broken, anybody have one that works? thanks.

I have owned at least a dozen ARs over the last 17 years and have shot competitively all those years. The lower receiver I just chose to put underneath my $600 LMT upper and $400 EOTech was a Stag Arms. You can pay more but you can't get better.

i have heard nothing but good reviews from those who actually OWN stag products. i think i'll go with the $80 stag. can't beat that price. besides, the lower isn't particularly critical. as long as the parts fit and it doesn't break, you should be golden.

looks like their server was just down for a couple hours. i ended up getting three and my buddy jumped in with another one for the small price break. at 80 bucks a piece, it makes sense to sock a couple away for a rainy day. besides, it gives me an excuse to drag more crap home from gun shows:D thanks for the advice, guys.

This is not an uncommon spring --how about raiding your ball point
pens and snipping off the extra length? :p

In all seriousness, one of my AR15 parts kits came with some extra
fat roll pins that I did not want to chance hammering and breaking
the aluminum ears off my receiver. I went down to Tru-value and
picked up some extras that were more to spec and worked fine.

I have a local, non-advertising, small-time dealer (business is in his house) that sells Stag lowers at $90 and Double Star lowers for $100. He also has Stag lower parts kits at $65 and DPMS for $50. The wife, Missashot, just bought a lower and parts kit and built up her lower last week.
