A friend of mine called me up and said he went to buy an AR lower and the gun shop said they were out and couldn't get any more right now.

Any truth to that, or is that why I don't go to that shop anyway?

My friend is now worried about the next election. He is also worried about ammo pricing. I laughed at him and said you should have thought of this last year.

Are people starting to buy up everything before the election? Guns, ammo, mags and parts?

There is some truth to it: They probably are out, and it requires them to get off their dead ass and pick up the phone to get more.

There is no shortage of stripped (or built to any condition) AR lowers. I just ordered a A2 lower from Nodak http://www.nodakspud.com/AR Lowers.htm last week. UPS say it'll be here Wednesday.

No shortage of AR lowers that I can see. Major distributers have literally thousands in stock.

I agree that they need to get off their ass and pick up a phone.

Plenty of lowers made, question is what type of lower are they trying to get? All they have to do is call, and more will be on the way.

There are more companies making AR's now than ever before. If that gunshop doesn't have any it's because they didn't order them.

There are literally hundreds of sources on the internet to acquire an AR lower... quite affordably too... I've seen prices range from ~$80 to $200 for AR lowers.

Google is your friend...

How and why DPMS is so far behind is a mystery to me... I know some parts are taking longer than others to get but they are still making them as fast as they can. I know if I am 4 days behind I am on the phone getting answers on where the parts are.

That sounds like a DMPS problem to me. I just picked up another 4 Stag lowers I don't even need simply because, as El T says, they were there and I wanted to add to the stack :)

It depends on who you call. Anvil Arms ran out a few months ago, and had a few month backorder. Others have been "out" of stripped lowers as well at various times in the past few months.

Sometimes you have to make more than one call. I ordered a bunch of Spike's lowers and they were here within a few days.

If you are picky about the manufacturer stamp, you might have trouble finding a certain brand. Otherwise you should be able to find something.

It is nearly impossible to get Noveske lowers right now along with the other quality lowers that are not specifically banned by name here in CA. We recently discovered a loophole in the AW ban here (bullet button and monster man grip) that allowes us to buy "off list lowers". Some of the most popular are Stag and Noveske. Noveskes are quite popular because most of the "off list brands" have hideous logos engraved on the side of their receivers, whereas Noveke's is pretty cool. So anyway, CA is sucking up all the rest of the country's stock before our retarded state closes the loophole.

Thanks for all the replies. I figured it was just the shop being full of it. That is why I don't shop there. My friend like to go there though.
