I purchased one for a try out few years back. I have it until now and it still functions. My opinion though will be to stick with usgi 20/30rd mags. company's such as CProducts, D&H, etc. CProducts makes steel mags aswell, cost alittle more coin. but, there have great reviews on them.

DT!

Just received a few from 44mag.com. They were C Products. So far, excellent mags and cheaper than Sportsman's Guide.

I bought a bunch of those steel Singapore mags a while back. I use them as range mags, figuring the steel lips would wear less than those on aluminum mags. They've always worked great, no problems. I wouldn't buy them from Sportsman's guide though. Check out the Equipment Exchange on www.ar15.com

I've always assumed they were military contract mags for one of the Asian militaries armed with M16s.

Joe, go get three boxes, 1 big tupperware storage container from Walmart and 2 cardboard boxes. The tupperware box is for mags you keep, one cardboard box is for defectives, one is for those awaiting testing. Get to work.:D

Nothing wrong with the mags you posted. Magpul followers are the bee's knees. I purchased a bunch of CProducts with orange Magpuls from CDNN recently and they are working great. In the past I usually order NHMTG mags from R Guns in Illinois and switch the followers to gray Magpuls.

Keep the defectives (mark them). Sometimes you can trade them to gunsmiths or gun stores or take them to gun skul class and ask the instructor what he thinks is wrong with it. THE Pat Rogers, who comes to Boone County, Indiana, has been most helpful with my gear (Pat's a real gear who-know-what) and gives advice freely.

DMK, well, Asian militrees armed with almost M-16s.:D

On 2 occasions, I've bought steel AR mags, and on both occasions I've ended up keeping the springs and followers and pitching the mag bodies and floorplates. I'll stick with USGI or Brownells aluminum mags from now on.

One question for others: Do you think the polymer coated Wolf ammo gets caught in the feed lips worse than brass ammo? I was going through a bunch of my mags and felt that the wolf ammo was much more stubborn trying to unload out of a full mag. The feed lips seemed to grab the rounds a lot more.

Also, I am speculating that some D&H mags I have seem to have sharper edges on the inside of the feed lips, but we'll see.
