This thread is in response to someone who posted whether or not an AR shotgun was possible... well, I found this. I think he posted it in this forum but I'm not sure... could have been the shotgun one.

AR Shotgun
My guess is it uses a different lower.

you are going to get a lot of post saying " HOLY CRAP... this again
!!" but i cant get enough of it. i love .410's. my first gun was givin to me by my father. it was a .410, over/under america arms silver 1 in mint conndition. i cant wait to hand it down to my son. i just wish that someone over hear in the sats would desing one. id buy it. hear that... I'D BUY IT!!

I've heard of it--primary purpose being those countries that no longer have civil liberties.

I wonder if it can fire slugs, or only shot?

any .410 can fire both shot and slugs. brenneke slugs are great because they are made like a rifle cartridge. thier made of full length brass. like ultra-high brass shell's... :)

looks like fun to me! especially with the brass shells and slugs, can they be loaded much hotter than plastic shotshells? I wonder if anyone coul make a .410 upper that would work with normal lowers?

I am betting that it is on a regular AR-15 lower. 2 1/2" shells fit in an AR-15 magazine(the follower would still have to be changed though).

Would 922r still apply if a foreign upper is placed on a domestic lower?

yes. its a total count of foreign parts. and not just on imported guns.

if it wasn't then all you would need to do for say an AK is use a US receiver (as a receiver is the only actual "firearm" )

Turning an AR rifle into a .410 shotgun is interesting, but not as interesting as the "opposite" (which has been done): turning a Saiga/AK .410 shotgun into a .444 Marlin rifle!
