AR sights on an AK

I have Krebs dustcover mounted, A2 style peep sights on one of my Veprs. I love them.

They don't improve the accuracy. Accuracy is what the gun will shoot, period. They do improve your sight picture considerably, and most of us shoot better with peep sights. I think one of the biggest reasons AKs get a bad rep for accuracy is the crappy buckhorn irons on them.

First thing I did for my AK was get a Williams peep sight that replaces the rear buckhorn. Did a world of good for quick short-range shots.

Next step after replacing the rear sight is to get an Ultimak railed gas tube and mount a red dot sight. Next step after that is to get the Ultimak railed forearm just because you like the gas tube so much. Not sure what the next step is, I'll let you know later. ;)

Just like Corriea said, sights don't make the gun more accurate, just make you more accurate with the gun. With a peep sight you'll get a better sight picture, especially if that's what you're used to.

I'll 2nd the Ultimak railed gas tube that Texfire mentioned. A rock solid mount and relatively easy to install. And obviously, a railed gas tube needs something mounted to it. A red dot is the way to go.

This part is designed to attach to the rear sight support (in front), and the tang of the rifle (in back). It's made of 6061 aluminum, anodized black, and has provisions for both windage and elevation adjustment. It's also designed to accommodate regular disassembly of an AK rifle. It provides the user with a 1913 rail over the receiver cover on a standard-pattern AK, with AR sights at the back of the receiver (providing an approximately 60% greater sight radius).
If it works? Brilliant! [/Guinness_Commercial]

Looks like it is mostly-firmly attached to the block and RSB in the front, and to a widget they attach to the tang in the back.

Like Correia says, if the rifle isn't accurate already, just changing the sights won't help. Peep sights are easier to use though. No trying to focus on three things at the same time. Mind you, AK's were not made for great accuracy. They were made to be issued to illiterate conscripts and go bang every time.
A change of ammo, if you're not reloading, can help accuracy. As will a trigger job.
