AR15 and ACOG values

Gentlemen,

I have a like new Bushmaster AR-15 (16-inch pencil barrel, regular front sight, flat top with A-2 peeps carry handle, and collapsible stock) with a TA01 4x32 Trijicon ACOG (Red Crosshair Full Illumination). What do you think this is worth on the open market? Any opinions are vaulable. I am debating a FTF offering in the Houston area.

You got to find someone looking for that exact set up to get out of it what your looking for. You might be better off taking the ACOG off and selling them separate.

Well the NEW ACOGs go for about $1,000 and right now ARs are $800-$1,200.

So I would guess $2k (maybe a little less) if you knew the right person.

And as Darthbauer suggested parting might return more money.

You could always put it on Gunbroker.com and let the insanity begin. The sky is the limit over there.

I went the path of the carry handle version, relying on the realities (or, at least, as ALWAYS in my case) of Murphy's law. I figured despite their toughness, I would screw it up and still have plan B available with the twist of a finger screw.

Really nice optic, you've got there, BTW. I had the opportunity to fire an experimental 5.56 MG the other day (see attached) that was equipped with one of the 4x32 ACOG models with fiber optic illumination... not sure which model, exactly, but it sure was sweet!

Now I'm having second thoughts about being so neighborly... if the deal with anteken falls through I might be interested. I've got a 16" HB Bushy with an A2 upper that's just crying out for a sight upgrade
