to make a long story short...

i bought an ar15 that shoots verry low. so low that i had to ramp up the fromt fight so much thet it wobbles and all accuracy is destroyed. im getting around eight moa.

i ordered some national match sights ,but i don't think that is the problem. ill call bushmaster to see what the deal is. but any ideas are appreciated.

oh and it is an m-4 configured ar-15 and it has a detatchable cary handle . ill se if i can get a new one.

To raise the point of impact you screw the front sight DOWN so it should not get loose at all.

Also, remember that if you sight in at 100 yards, but shoot it at 25 feet, point of impact will indeed be low some 2" or so, so you meed to know your hold over and hold under at the ranges that you want to shoot.

(Or you can jack with the elevation on the rear sight...)

I think you might have that backwards, the rifle will probably shoot high due to the slighly higher rear sight configuration and having the wrong front sight tower causing you to move your front sight up so high that its nearly out of threads. My front sight is a little wiggly on my Bushy 20" rifle with the detachable handle, but there is still enough spring tension to keep it centered, I would image the problem is much worse on a carbine.

DPMS and probably a few others make an extra tall front sight to deal with this problem.

rino451 has it right.
You screw the front sight post down to adjust point of impact up.
If your rifle was shooting low you adjusted the sight the wrong way.

Flat top rifles and carbines using standard front sight bases tend to shoot high, not low.
That is why the taller 'carbine' front sights are offered.
