AR15 Gunsmith recommendation in Atlanta, GA

I posted on another thread that the gas system on my Colt AR-15 has become blocked due to the firing .22LR through it. I was able to repair the blockage on my gas tube but it did not fix the problem and my rifle still will not cycle. Since the gas tube was filled with fused lead I figure the same thing must be blocking the gas port in the barrel or in the front sight base. I tried to take off the fsb but no matter how hard I try I can't get the fsb pins to come out.

Rather than cause unnecessary damage to my rifle I want to just send it to a local gunsmith for repair. Anyone know or a reliable gunsmith who works on AR-15's in the metro Atlanta area? Thanks for your recommendations.

It could also be the bolt carrier key...but you probably already knew that.
The pins in the sight base are tapered and come out one way...Been a few years, but I'm thinkin' right to left. They're tight!

If ya don't get a lead on a riflesmith in your area in a while, I'll go ahead and shoot this over to Rifle Country. One of those lads over there will know just the man to help ya out.

Yeppers, it's right to left, and they are tight, they are supposed to be. Some aftermarket producers do use roll pins or straight pins, but most are tapered. Take an brake you have off ot the front of it, use a good punch, solid surface and a sharp wrap from a heavy hammer. One you get them out, the assembly will come off ot the end of the muzzle.

Now, if you have a permanently mounted brake, your SOL. It's cheaper to buy a new barrel.

Degrease everything before you put it back together, assemble with some locktite, and even locktite the pins in.

BTW, ggod call on the carrier key, been there and done that. So simple it's easy to overlook something that should be regualr maintenence. Might check that first. laen the tip with an old worn out .22 brush and then arun a pipe cleaner through it with some solvent. Blow it out with a compresser if you can. When you install the bolt, make sure you alternate the ring gaps too.
 
I will check the carrier key and bolt assembly. What do I need to check for? I noticed that the bolt is very hard to push in and out of the carrier. Could this be the issue? I really don't want to pull of the FSB unless I have to and would prefer to diagnose the issue before going through all the trouble.

When I get home tonight I will check the entire bolt assembly for problems. Thanks for your help.
