AR15 questions

I'm also not fond of the look of the adjustable stocks, but it may be useful for me to have one as I am 6'3 and the rest of my family is at least a foot shorter. So being able to make the rifle fit them is more important than the fact I don't like the looks of the thing.
very good point and in that cas i would have the collapsing buttstock on mine. that is a sgood as reason as any!

i to believe that the ar-15 platform would give you all the things youwant and much more. changing an upper is easy. mounting optics and getting a flat top upper easy, don't want the rail system don't get it to easy. that is the great thing about the ar platform do what or not it is personal preference, and up to you. btw i would go with 16" barrel chrome lined if possible.

If I go with an Eotech what kind of iron sights and mounts would I need to "co-witness" them?
i have used two different rear sights to co- witness with my eo-tech. well first it was the gg&g mad buis, but now i use another sight. it is hard to explain so i will post a pic.
co witnessing has worked great with these 2.

Thanks everybody.

As of right now and for a few months I will not be able to go as spendy as I wanted due to a tax bill that came unlooked for out of the west.

So, poof, there goes most of my "gun fun" money.

Not all of it though. I have a little left and I still want a rifle in a fighting caliber.

So I must retreat and regroup.

I'm thinking of getting an SKS to hold me over. Slap on some Tapco furniture and I can get both the adjustable stock and a forward rail for optics.

Is there such a thing as SKS thumb?
