I just got my C&R a few weeks ago and I can't find anything to buy!!!!!:banghead:

A year ago everything was a C&R and it was all selling for peanuts. What happened? Star Bs were $129, Ballister Molinas were about $149, Sistema Colts were under $200 once. Did I miss the boat or are these things cyclic?

I called every C&R dealer looking for a Star B and they are no more. I couldn't find a M44 for a decent price either. I couldn't even find a Yugo SKS in stock. The prices on these are great but no one has them!!!:banghead:

If I missed the boat, it is going to be a long 3 years.:uhoh:

Yep, C&R firearms are a limited resource...
Not neccessarily. If a C&R license covers guns that are 50 years and older, then every year that passes should bring new guns that get put on the list as acceptable, and hence, more deals.

thats one reason we seem to stay broke, it comes in small shipments like all the russian k98s out there now get them why you can. in 6 months it will be somthing else then try to find the k98 you wont have much luck. like the mas 49/56 seems like they have dried up. the star b took almost a year to do. thats why were always broke grab why you can. I bet the Europeans and Russians have figured out that people will pay more for C&R firearms than for FFL-required ones due to being able to avoid the dealer, and are thus only releasing small lots of the good stuff. Look at the Yugo sks, first rumor was there werent many of them, they got classified as C&R and now there's something on the order of a hundred thousand of them that just came out of the woodwork. Also, look at the CZ50 and CZ70, almost identical gun (cosmetic differences and age, CZ70 is new production, IIRC), but the CZ50 costs $120-150 because its C&R, while the CZ70 sells for $80 dealer.

And SOG is now out of the Russian capture k98s, too. If you miss this stuff, it may be gone forever. Then again, they DID take a backorder on one from me.

Kharn, i always thought there was truth to that statment i think you hit the nail on the head. but it sometime doesnt hold true look at the cz52 the seem to stay cheap. Ronald

I think that they are starting to dry up a bit. 50-60 years ago you had mainly bolt action rifles or semis with limited capacity. Once you get into the late 50's - 60's you start to get into select fire rifles with detachable magazines. I don't see a whole lot of them becoming available to the general C&R FFL (would be nice though :D ).

You can try gunbroker.com as well, they have a C&R section so you don't have to wonder whether something you see is C&R or not. I got mine in december and have yet to order anything.

Such a deal! $369.00 for a pistol that was selling for $129 less than a year ago. Talk about missing the boat. I won't miss the boat on some of the things. I will buy things just because they are cheap. I will want them someday.

For example, M44s, I don't want one but for $42.00 I can't pass it up.
