Are there any states in the South to avoid when transporting firearms?

Is a cardboard box the same?
I'm not trying to jack the thread, but I have made several trips to Anniston and none of the guys at the store made any mention of lawful transport.
 
If you have an unloaded gun in a box or case in the back of the vehicle, separate from ammunition, while traveling from the point of sale...with receipts proving so on you...on the way to your home...and you are talking about states in the South...I really really don't foresee there being a problem unless your actions or behavior create one.

Thanks for the tip. If a corrupt officer did so, I would report the guns stolen, contact internal affairs with name and badge number, report the theft with name/badge/location number on every gun board possible, hire a PI to investigate the officer, and should it occur with a hidden camera catching the event it will be on youtube and hopefully end the scumbags career within 3 days.
 
Don't forget to go to the feds, if that were to happen. And/or the state. But a law enforcement body other than the local dept who employs the crook.

Good point. Which federal agency would serve the best to report all this to?
 
Dunno, but I'd sure as hell find out in a hurry if it mattered.

And I'll bet a civil rights violation suit could be brought in federal court.

Getting my firearms back, scumbag gets fired, million dollar law suit win would be a win win.
 
It is TOO BAD the NRA does not have a Hall of Shame for crooked gun grabbing cops. Anyway back on topic.
