Hello all, just wondering if the 24/7 .45acp problems have been worked out by taurus. Was considering one a while ago but after doing research found out that there were many problems with the .45's.

Anyone know if they are doing any better now?

I have heard nothing but positive things about the 24/7. Enough so that I went and looked at them. Might give one a try one of these days.

I think the problems have been fixed, because I remember seeing that the magazine capacity is now 10 instead of 12. I bought one of the old 12-rounders and yeah, major problems. Couldn't load more than one in the magazine at a time or it would jam. Sent it back to Taurus a couple of times, they claimed to fix it, no difference. Ended up pawning it and saving up for an XD. It's a nice gun if they don't have any problems anymore, but gosh, I just can't bring myself to trust that company again. Shame, too, I've been looking for a little ccw gun and their 145 looks nice.

For those not familiar with the problem...

Many, MANY people reported feeding problems with the non-pro 24/7 .45acp. When the pro's came out, less problems were reported, but problems none the less. I havent heard anything in a while. You can read about some of them here in the talkback section under the review.

If there are any Taurus 24/7 .45 owners here, please chime in with your experiences.

Mostly mag problems in .45

ZeroCool said it.

There are various Taurus forums on the 'Net; I checked those prior to buying my 24/7 PRO 9mm mid-last year.

The problems were reported to be mostly or exclusively with 24/7s in .45; and those problems seemed to be mostly related to factory magazines in .45. Seems to be less buzz about this lately, and current production may not be afflicted (not sure if mags were the only fix).

My 9mm 24/7 PRO has been flawless and the best shooter among many handguns I've shot and owned (many Colts, S&W, Walther, Bersa, KelTec, etc.).

I had a PRO .45 and had all kinds of feeding issues. Two new mags improved the function but it still wasn't perfect. I bought it new about 11mo. ago and it had 12rd mags. From what I've seen on the net it seems to be the mags that cause the problem, not something in the gun.
