I've studiously avoided Taurus guns in general due to the comments read here regarding spotty quality control and customer service. However, the new Taurus 24/7 compact has caught my attention as a compact .45acp gun for CCW and range. Does anyone know anything about the new Taurus 24/7 compact and whether Taurus has improved or is it the same old game? Thanks for any info!

Sometimes for info on a brand, make or model it is wise to go to the source of that kind of info such as gun specific forums. Keltec,Springfield,S&W, Ruger, or Taurus gun forums just as an example.

For those who pine that some gun specific forums are invalid let everyone be reminded that all gun specific forums fall into that "fuzzy logic" and unwise "conventional widom".

For Taurus there is www.taurusarmed.net and Taurus Talk at MSN. Go to these places, do searches, read old and new threads, and ask the actual owners the questions. Just an idea.
This place has some good info as well. Just that there is a broader specific brand use out there at those gun specific forums.

On the Taurus 24/7 and the Taurus PT145, they are direct kin and all, there is this:

In some or most of these links are other links from the users and owners themselves.

I've owned 2 Taurus (Tauri?) and had good experiences with both....however, neither were the 24/7.

My PT92 was a TANK. I put every bit of 6-8k rounds through it with no issues.
My PT145 had some problems, shipped it to Taurus on their nickel and 6 weeks later it came back working as good as new. My only complaint is that they didn't clean it after test firing it.

I had a 24/7 .45 for about a week before I traded it in for something else. Did NOT like it at all. I like my Taurus 1911 and PT-92 just fine and they're good guns, but that 24/7 just sucked. Trigger, accuracy, and reliability were all less than stellar.
