Gunbroker item #892318387. Seven days to go, and minimum bid is $16,400 for worn 1912 Colt 1911. My S P Fjestad Blue Book lists one at 98% is worth a maximum $10,000. No comprende!
Don't have to. I paid $5500 for 1912 1911 Colt at 95% two weeks ago. Ser#11760 and I am VERY happy with it.
Much like a pair of genuine Levis in Moscow, circa 1982..........While I have seen a number of truly insane auctions as of late..
I am not sure if a CA C&R gun qualifies..The world of Guns outside of ban states is completely different that those behind lines and this one started at a penny..
Whew, at least theres no shortage of sharks with laser helmets. Oh, great, now I said that, there will be a run on sharks and laser helmets.........Well if one party buys a 1912 manufacture 1911 for $5,500 that reduces the pool of available examples and forces the rest of us to pay more for the fewer extant examples available.
This will keep going til the last Model 1911 made in 1912 goes to Dr Evil for One Million Dollars gloating with his pinkie finger at the corner of his mouth as Mini Me dances a jig.
Hey it is what it is. With this latest panic many see prices "asked" for things like Primers, ammo, and some guns and are shocked. Many are of course angry if they can't get any of these and see ad's asking many times what the items recently sold for. It's just the market and the way it rolls.Again I say, point taken, I really appreciate all your responses. Could be something is wrong with me.
NRA grading is iffy and extremely subjective as well. An exceptionally generalized reference, at best.Blue book has absolutely nothing to do with GB auctions.
Guns are worth what people are willing to pay.
Yep, three pair would buy you a Lata, which was about as hard to acquire. And you did not need to remove the wipers off the Levis when you went in doors.Much like a pair of genuine Levis in Moscow, circa 1982
All I have to say is I don't want to hear any more crap about $1080 for a CMP 1911.
