Ok, it isn't that bad. But still...

I got a rifle kit from PSA yesterday. I got the lower maybe a week ago. Awesome, right?

I was putting it together, and lost a detent. I'm pretty certain it made it's way into the tiling in my basement. It is apparently gone forever. A flashlight, and a magnet didn't help me find it. So, now it looks like I'll need to wait a few days to get a new one until I can take it out and shoot it. I made sure to order a couple spares, just in case.

On the upside, I put the upper on another lower I had, so I'll be able to take that out today, but I was still looking forward to shooting the new rifle. I waited a couple weeks for the kit, so I guess I can wait a couple more days.

I try and do all repairs in a well lite clean area, but I still lose a spring loaded part or two here and their - I feel your pain!

when I was putting the pivot pin detent in I aimed it into a big box in which some of my parts came.

Most everyone who takes things apart has launched a spring loaded part before. There is a little bit of panic that goes with that. On something where you may never find another part for it, the pucker factor can be great.

At least it was a very common part, easily replaced. :)

The stock retaining bolt and recoil springs are not small but man thy shoot out quick. I have taken to putting a towel over the stock when I am removingthe springs it catches everything if I slip and I don't run the chance of losing a tooth.

My fav Murphy's law. If you take something apart and put it back together enough times you will eventually have two of them.
