I'm arguing with an anti and he's flinging instances of psychos shooting up places.

Can anyone tell me where I can find a list instances where CCWs and law-abiders defended themselves legally?

They have also used cars and attempted to crash into people in crowds. Use Google.

every issue there is a CCW page where CCW'ers defend themselves...

You could simply point out the fact that if a "psycho" with a gun were to corner them somewhere, they would be completely helpless to defend themselves, their wife/husband, their kids, etc.

The DOJ estimates 1.5 million.

IIRC, the _lowest_ figure is 3/4 of a million DGUs

The bottom line is that the number of lives saved using guns is a vast number compared to the number of those murdered using guns.
 
What exactly is he saying should be banned because of the actions of psychos?

Concealed carry?

In that case, I hardly think that laws against carrying are going to deter a psycho from shooting someplace up.

Psycho: "I think I'd like to go shoot up the school today and murder a couple dozen people... but, wait a minute, carrying guns in schools is illegal! I guess I'll just have to sit home drinking milk and eating cookies instead."

Inform him that criminals, by definition, break the law. My informal surveys of inmates I have had in the prisons I have worked in, showed that criminals do NOT care one bit about gun laws, no matter what, period. If he want's to disarm himself, that's his right, but disarming you is projection, and not his right.
 
Tell him psychos also use airliners and fertlizer mixed with diesel to kill more people at one time.than anyone with a gun has. I doubt he will get it he already blames the guns not the criminal.
