I was wondering what a value would be for the following Arisaka?
It is a type 99, Series 2, and Serial Number 18.
Problems: Has been taken away from original stock, someone tried to grind the rim of the muzzle *just a little, and that is all. Not bad if it had a original type stock. Any comments?
Thanks

Anti aircraft sights intact?
Monopod gone?
In a sporter stock?

If yes to all of above, maybe $100. (unless it is a Fajen or some such stock...then add the value of the wood...likely worth more than the rifle)

Which is a shame really...I have a Type 99 and it appears to be the equal of any WWII rifle out there.

Arisaka 99

I saw a typical early 99 in good shape yesterday at the TSRA Gun Show in Mesquite. No monopod, cleaning rod, or wings on the sight, otherwise matching and in good shape. No stock refinishing or cracks. The guy went from 250 to 225 when I picked it up. Probably could have taken it for 200.
