For those of you that hunt Coues Deer in Unit 36B in AZ, you can forget it this coming fall.

Illegal aliens started a fire, Murphy Fire, that combined with the lightning strike Parjarito Fire and took out the entire game management unit.

And I was going to hunt that area this year, at least it will clear the vegitation so the boarder patrol will be able to see them.

I would love to go off about illegal aliens and about how they make me sick to my stomach, but it will end this thread quickly. That's unfortunate though.

Actual not an illegal but a Native American. They discussed this today on the news. Where did you get illegal from?

If this is true, BikerRN, you just ruined my day. I put in for Kaibab, but figuring I would not get drawn, I put in for 36B as my 3rd choice as there are always leftover licenses. Where did your info come from? I would like to read the article.

Years ago, I was stationed at Travis AF Base, northern Calif. I hunted black tails at the Hayfork Burn. This was a forest fire that burned several thousand acres in Trinity County. But 6 years later, it was a "honey hole" for deer. I tagged a large bodied fork horn buck along the perimeter of the "burn" with my 308 carbine.

Arizona landscape will recover and so will the deer. Almighty God made the laws of nature and they always work out perfectly.

Good hunting to you.

My info came from a face to face conversation with someone there.
The west half of the unit is OK, but the east half is toast. It took out Atascosa Lookout and the canyons running up to the peak, but was "splotchy" in other spots. I agree, in a few years it will be a real "honey hole".
