from AzCDL today:

A list of firearms related bills we are monitoring this session can be found on AzCDL's Bill Tracking page. This coming Friday, March 26, is the deadline for Senate bills to be heard in House committees and House bills to be heard in Senate committees. The following is the status of pro-rights bills still moving through the Legislature.

HB 2111, which proposes that any act, law, treaty, rule or regulation of the U.S. Government that violates the Second Amendment would be unenforceable in Arizona, passed out of the Senate Judiciary Committee on March 11. It will soon be scheduled for a Senate Committee of the Whole (COW) hearing. Now is the time to contact your Arizona Senator urging them to support the passage of HB 2111. A letter to your Senator has been prepared and is waiting for you at the link below. You can send it as is or add your own comments.

HB 2551 would exempt CCW permit holders from the prohibition on entering state and local government-controlled property while armed unless the property or event screens for weapons and is equipped with accessible storage for personal firearms. HB 2551 passed out of the Senate Judiciary Committee on Thursday, March 18. We are waiting for it to be scheduled for a Senate COW hearing.

HB 2810 is civil asset forfeiture reform legislation. It would require a criminal conviction in order for the government to confiscate someone’s property. HB 2810 passed out of the Senate Judiciary Committee on March 11.

HB 2827, which would prohibit business or financial discrimination against a "firearm entity" that supports or is engaged in the lawful commerce of firearms, firearms accessories or ammunition products, has not had a House COW hearing and is effectively dead for the session.

HB 2840, which would remove the requirement that a firearm must be unloaded when secured in a vehicle on school grounds, also passed out of the Senate Judiciary Committee on March 18. We are waiting for it to be scheduled for a Senate COW hearing.

SB 1328 passed out of the Senate and was sent to the House on March 4. It needs to heard in the House Judiciary Committee this coming week to survive. SB 1328 proposes that any act, law, treaty, rule or regulation of the U.S. Government that violates the Second Amendment, or Article 2, Section 26 of the Arizona Constitution, would be unenforceable in Arizona. Article 2, Section 26 of the Arizona Constitution states that "The right of the individual citizen to bear arms in defense of himself or the state shall not be impaired..."

SB 1360, which would reduce hunting and fishing license fees for military veterans and allow the transfer of veteran permits or tags to someone taking wildlife on behalf of a veteran, has been pulled from the Senate COW calendar rendering it effectively dead for the session.

SB 1382, which would classify ammunition and firearms related businesses as “essential” during a state of emergency is scheduled for a House Judiciary Committee hearing on Wednesday, March 24.
Your RTS "vote" supporting SB 1382 must be entered before the hearing date
To voice your opinion on SB 1382, log into your Request to Speak (RTS) account, then click on the big blue "Request to Speak" icon, then click on the "New Request" tab on the left side of the page.

If you do not see the "New Request" tab, stop here. It means that your RTS account was not created or activated at an official RTS terminal at the Capitol and cannot be used to comment on legislation being heard in committees. If you do not have an RTS account, we are not able to create one for you before the March 26 committee hearing deadline.

Clicking on the "New Request" will cause a new window to appear. In the "Search Phrase" field enter 1382 then click on the blue "Search" button below the Search Phrase.

Your search results will appear below the "Search" button as in the example below

Click on the blue "Add Request" button on the right side of your search results (as in the example above) to bring up your voting page (below). For these bills we ask that you click on the "For" (thumbs up) button. Unless you plan on attending and testifying at the committee hearing, always answer "No" to the "Do you wish to speak?" question.

Can you use the default forum font size next time? This is kind of a strain to read. At my age anything that strains me is not likely to be enagaged with. Sorry.

I don't see too well any more either. To read here I usually keep THR at 110% magnification, but increase to 125% for the forum standard quote format with the tiny gray italics on the pink background.

My above post was a total copy and paste from the AzCDL email, if I had selected a larger font size from the forum formatting interface all the larger type would have become smaller. I would suggest to change the magnification setting in your browser as described above, it's one click.

Hope that helps. :)
